Police: Man fires shots at son violating protection order

A man fired shots at his son Christmas Eve in Tacoma, when the 22-year-old violated a retraining order by showing up at the dad’s house, police said.

No one was hurt.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the son reportedly showed up at the house twice Wednesday in the 1200 block of South 19th Street, and officers responded, but could not find him. The third time the son showed up, shortly before 9 p.m., the dad called police to say he was going to protect himself, and he fired twice, but did not hit him, Cool said.

Officers arrived and took the 22-year-old into custody.

The dad did not break any laws while defending himself, Cool said.
