A pothole damaged 15 cars Sunday along southbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma, Washington State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill said Monday.
The hole was reportedly the size of a semitrailer tire, and appeared on the southbound I-5 exit to Interstate 705, in the left lane, said state Department of Transportation spokeswoman Claudia Bingham Baker.
Crews became aware of the pothole about 7:20 p.m., and had it fixed up about an hour later.
“When you get the amount of rain that we had, certainly it can start working on vulnerable areas of pavement,” she said.
