A woman was hit and killed by an unidentified vehicle that left her along a Midland street, Pierce County detectives said.
Another driver found the woman, in her 50s, with serious injuries about 10:40 p.m. Monday near Golden Given Road and 106th Street Court East.
The injured woman died at the scene, and investigators said it appears she was hit by a vehicle that fled, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
She appears to have walked away from a nearby care facility, which reported her missing Tuesday morning, Troyer said. He said she left the assisted living home, which is not a lockdown facility, sometime Monday night. She suffered from mental health issues, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
