SWAT surrounds Lakewood home, but no one’s inside

Police surrounded a house in Lakewood after reported domestic violence Sunday, to find hours later that no one was inside.

The Special Weapons and Tactics team arrived shortly after 1:15 p.m. to the home in the 7600 block of Lucerne Road Southwest.

The suspect was known to have weapons and martial arts training, police spokesman Chris Lawler said.

Police went in about 4:30 p.m. and determined the house was empty and that the suspect and victim had probably left before officers arrived.

Police later found the man and woman safe in Tacoma. They took the man into custody as they investigated what happened, Lawler said.

Further details were not immediately available.
