A 14-year-old accused of shooting another teenager in Tacoma has turned himself in, police said, and a judge ordered him held Thursday as prosecutors review possible charges.
Pierce County prosecutors asked that boy be held for 72 hours as they look at the case, to which the judge agreed.
The boy told police Wednesday he was going to come in, and he arrived at and was booked into Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center that evening.
Police said the 14-year-old shot a 16-year-old boy about 2 p.m. Monday, after a fight in the 2000 block of East 43rd Street. The 16-year-old was treated and later released from a hospital.
