The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has been unable to determine what killed a pet cat and bird at a Lakewood home.
Initial reports were that a powdered carpet cleaner appeared responsible, but the Health Department said in a statement Monday that it was not able to confirm that.
“We are providing available information to the homeowner and recommending that he hire an industrial hygienist to investigate the situation further,” department official John Sherman said in the press release.
The department said the house in the 8600 block of Moreland Avenue Southwest still had a strong odor, and recommended no one live there until more information is available.
