A guy who tried to rob a Tacoma grocery store bank chickened out and fled when a staff member approached him, police said.
The man showed a note to a teller demanding cash about 5:20 p.m. Monday at the America’s Credit Union in the Walmart in the 1900 block of South Union Avenue.
He fled with that note and without any cash when a second bank employee came up to him, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.
The would-be robber is described as white, in his 40s, between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 10, and slender, with short brown hair, Crime Stoppers said.
