A house listed for sale in Kent caught fire early Monday and investigators were trying to determine whether it was started by a burglar arrested a block away during a possible break-in.
Firefighters were called to the two-story home in the 24000 block of 138th Court Southeast about 1:30 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the first floor.
It took 20 minutes for crews to extinguish the flames.
No one was living in the home, and the owner told firefighters transients had been a problem in the neighborhood, Capt. Kyle Ohashi said.

Police arrested a possible burglar nearby about the same time the fire was reported. Investigators said they didn’t know what started the fire but were considering whether the arrest is connected.
