Driver shot to death in Parkland

A 20-year-old Tacoma man was shot to death in Parkland while driving Monday night.

Witnesses told police a car sped up to the car driven by Daniel Mosley and someone inside opened fire.

One bullet struck Mosley in the head, and he lost control of the vehicle, which hit two parked cars and a mailbox before landing upside down.

Police said the shooting occurred on Ainsworth Avenue South between 112th and 114th Avenues South. Witnesses described the assailant’s car as a white mid-sized sedan.

Investigators do not know what prompted the shooting but believe Mosley was targeted.

“We believe they were intentionally shooting at him but we don’t know if it was road rage,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Mosley does not have a criminal record and had no weapon in his car.

Five witnesses helped deputies roll Mosley’s car upright to reach him , but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are trying to determine where Mosley was before the shooting and where he was headed.
