A woman and a teenage boy suffered gunshot wounds in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting along East McKinley Way on Saturday night, Tacoma police said. Neither injury was life-threatening.

Several people called 911 about shots fired about 5:15 p.m. in the 4300 block of East McKinley Way, which is near Verlo Playfield, but police arrived to find that everyone involved had left, spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

A witness told police that a gold and white car had fled the area. Not long afterward, a 26-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the thigh showed up at St. Joseph Medical Center, and said she’d been at the park.

A 16-year-old boy showed up shortly after that with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, and he had also been at the park, Cool said.
