Grandmother rescued from Auburn hillside

A grandmother, her two grandchildren, and a dog went over a ledge resulting in a hillside rescue in Auburn late Thursday afternoon.

Officials advised that the woman had fallen near the 2700 block of Forest Ridge Drive SE.

The 70-year-old was hiking with her grandchildren, 11 and 7 years old, when she slipped.

The 11-year-old walked up the hillslide, got to a phone, and called 911.

The children are now with their mother.

Valley Fire took the woman down to the White River and rafted to a place where they got her out safely.
