A Pierce Transit driver apparently had a heart attack before the bus he was driving crashed Tuesday, Tacoma police said.
The wreck happened about 8:30 a.m. near East 29th Street and Portland Avenue East, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. The bus hit a semitrailer, a tow truck and two other vehicles, she said.
Aside from the driver, all resulting injuries were minor, Cool said, and no citations were issued.
Pierce Transit spokesman Justin Leighton said the driver was being treated at a local hospital.
