Man arrested after fatal shooting in Kent

A man was fatally shot in Kent late Thursday, and police arrested a man hours later.

The confrontation happened about 11:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of South 256th Street. Police said the two men knew each other but did not say how.

Officers were called on report of shots fired and found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The man, who has not been identified, died shortly afterward.

Detectives developed information on the suspect and sent out a bulletin. The suspected shooter was taken into custody within hours.
