A bullet hit a garbage truck in Tacoma on Tuesday when a man fired off four shots into the air, police said.
No one was hurt.
Two people reported the shots in the 3500 block of East T Street about 11:50 a.m., said police spokeswoman Loretta Cool, who gave this account:
The shots were fired after a man raced around the area in a white Ford Crown Victoria, stopped and argued with a woman in the street. He then fired his gun in the air, and drove off.

One of the bullets came down and hit the nearby city of Tacoma garbage truck, she said.
The man is described as white, in his 30s, wearing a white shirt. The woman he argued with had long black hair, and was wearing a denim shorts and a tank top. She left the area on foot.
It’s not clear what the argument was over, or why the man fired the gun.
Cool said the Crown Victoria was not a patrol car, but might be an old police car sold at auction.
Anyone with information was asked to call 911.
