South Hill-area brush fire contained, smoke expected to last

Smoke from a 20-acre brush fire near Emerald Ridge High School will likely be visible for the rest of the week, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue said Tuesday.

Multiple agencies responded to the fire, which started about 5 p.m. Monday on undeveloped land in the South Hill area, near the Lipoma Firs Golf Course.

About 7 p.m. Tuesday, Central Pierce said the blaze was fully contained.
