Brothers shot at Tacoma hookah lounge

Two brothers were shot at a hookah lounge in Tacoma late Wednesday, and one was in critical condition, police said Thursday.

The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the 2000 block of South 96th Street.

A 25-year-old man shot in the torso remained in critical condition Thursday. His 28-year-old brother was shot in the back and was listed in stable condition.

The victims were uncooperative but appeared to have been standing just inside the doors of the Red Lava Hookah Lounge when they were shot, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

Three bullets hit the hookah lounge.

The motive for the shooting had yet to be determined and no arrests were made.
