Police arrested a 28-year-old man accused of having sex with a teenager he met online last year.
Jayson Ryan Gregory Williams is charged with second-degree child rape. He pleaded not guilty Thursday and Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered him released on personal recognizance.
Charging papers give this account:
The 14-year-old girl’s father discovered the inappropriate relationship and contacted police July, 30, 2014. He gave them his daughter’s cellphone and computer.
An investigator found sexual messages exchanged between the girl and someone named Jayson.
When interviewed in August, the girl (who since has turned 15) said she met Williams (then 27) online. Sometime before July 4, 2014, he picked her up near her home and took her to the DuPont waterfront, where she said they had sex.
KIRO-TV reported that Williams posted on his Facebook page that he’s a volunteer youth soccer coach with SeaTac United. That part of his Facebook profile did not appear to be visible to the public Thursday.
Among his conditions of release is that Williams cannot have contact with minors, and must stay away from schools and playgrounds.
His public defender was not available for comment Thursday.
