Shooting outside Parkland bar leaves two people injured. Stolen gun recovered at scene

Two people were shot Sunday outside the Lady Luck Bar in Parkland.

Pierce County deputies reportedly heard several gunshots about 2 a.m. coming from the bar across the street from their Parkland precinct, which is in the 14000 block of Pacific Avenue South. Deputies saw several vehicles driving away, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Darren Moss told The News Tribune on Monday.

A 37-year-old man had a graze wound, and medical personnel cleared him at the scene. A 30-year-old male had a gunshot wound and was transported with a non-life threatening injury, Moss said.

After watching surveillance video and speaking to witnesses, deputies believe the shooting was related to an argument in the parking lot. One man started firing his gun, and the two victims were unrelated bystanders.

Deputies recovered a handgun in the parking lot that was believed to be used in the shooting. The firearm was reportedly stolen from Seattle, Moss said.

This case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the shooting can call the Sheriff’s Department or they can make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
