Man fatally struck by vehicle in Tacoma’s Portland Avenue area. No arrests made

A vehicle struck and killed a man in Tacoma on Tuesday.

Tacoma police officers were dispatched at 8:42 p.m. to the 5900 block of Portland Avenue after a bystander reported that a deceased man was in the middle of the road, Tacoma police spokeswoman officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

Evidence suggested the man was struck and killed by a vehicle, Boyd said Wednesday. The Criminal Investigations Division consulted with the investigation. The Tacoma traffic and forensics units responded to the scene.

No arrests have been made, Boyd said.
