Federal Way drive-by shooting leaves 1 dead

Three men were shot and one killed early Thursday in Federal Way, and police are searching for the shooter.

Neighbors in the 32800 block of First Avenue South called 911 about 1:05 a.m. to report hearing gunshots, police said. Within moments, employees at St. Francis Hospital called to report gunshot victims were arriving.

Three Seattle men, ages 18, 19 and 20, were shot. The 20-year-old victim, who has not been identified, died at the hospital. The other two were expected to survive.

Police did not release a motive for the shooting.

Witnesses said a car pulled up alongside the victims’ vehicle and someone inside opened fire.

The getaway car is described as a red Chevrolet Impala-style vehicle. The gunman was described as black with a stocky build and dreadlocks.

Anybody with information on the shooting is asked to call Federal Way police at 253-835-6799.
