Deputies say teenager crashed car into a Pierce County high school. He’s been arrested
A 16-year-old is suspected of crashing a stolen car into the main doors and a fence at Bethel High School in early October.
The teenager was arrested Tuesday for vandalism, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.
Deputies were dispatched at 4:40 a.m. on Oct 1 after a 911 caller reportedly saw a Hyundai sedan crash into the school’s fence. Twelve minutes later, security discovered the sedan also crashed into the front doors of the school. The engine was running, but no one was seen near the car, The News Tribune previously reported.
The sedan was stolen from Graham earlier that morning. It was later recovered and towed from the school, the story said.
It costed about $15,000 for the doors to be repaired, according to a Bethel School District spokesperson.
Deputies believe there are still three or four other people who might be involved in the crash. Anyone with more information can contact the Sheriff’s Department or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers, the post said.
