Investigation underway in Tacoma after detectives receive tip about cold case

An investigation is underway in Tacoma on Monday after detectives received a tip related to a cold case.

Detectives went to the 3200 block of Gunnison Street in the morning and investigated for most of the day, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson Officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

Boyd said she could not say which specific cold case detectives received the tip for. She said that the department investigates a lot of tips related to cases, and they do not want to get a family’s hopes up should nothing come of it.

Gunnison Street is not blocked off, but there is a side street that is, Boyd said.
