A wanted felon was arrested in Mason County on Friday after he allegedly burglarized his sister’s home before spraying her with bear mace in Tacoma.

The man is accused of committing the burglary and assault over an argument about money. Tacoma Police Department requested the assistance of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office in his arrest, the office wrote on Facebook.

The man reportedly had warrants out of Mason County Superior Court and from the Washington Department of Corrections for escape from community custody, the post said.

A deputy later found the man in his vehicle in the Timberlakes Community. The post said he drove off when a deputy opened his door and ordered him out of the car.

“The suspect attempted to get away by driving through a backyard of a nearby residence, but the quick thinking of the Deputy prevented the suspect’s escape, by blocking the vehicle’s path then pinning the vehicle at the front bumper,” according to the post.

He was arrested and booked into the Mason County Jail on suspicion of attempt to elude a pursuing police vehicle and for his warrants, the post said. He eventually will be transferred to Tacoma.
