A man found stabbed in a Lakewood parking lot Thursday night has died, and police were investigating the case as a homicide.

Daniel R. Guerin, 36, was discovered about 10:45 p.m. in the parking lot of Seeley Lake Park, 9200 Lakewood Drive Southwest, suffering from stab wounds, Lakewood police said Friday.

He later died of those wounds. Guerin was found near his blue 2003 Chevrolet pickup.

Detectives have little to go on, police Lt. Chris Lawler said.

“Detectives have no leads and need the public’s help in looking for information,” Lawler wrote in an email. “Maybe someone drove by the scene last night and noticed something or someone suspicious in the area.”

Vicky Jordan is Guerin’s mother.

Jordan said her son had suffered from health problems, including mental illness, but had been working for the past eight years in construction and enjoyed riding dirt bikes.

“He was a sweet, sweet soul,” she said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Police Department’s tip line at 253-830-5064.

Tips also can be submitted via the Lakewood police website or Crimestoppers 253-591-5959.
