Heroin, cocaine found on suspects after drive-by shooting in Tacoma

Three gunshots drew Tacoma police to a car that then led officers on a high-speed pursuit for 20 miles.

When it ended in Kent early Friday, two men were arrested, and several grams of heroin and cocaine were seized.

On Monday, Kendale Jimerson was ordered jailed in lieu of $1 million bail after pleading not guilty to first-degree assault, drive-by shooting, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, felony eluding and third-degree driving on a suspended license.

His passenger, Joshua Everybodytalksabout, is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after pleading not guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Both men are 21.

Passersby heard gunshots in the 5600 block of South Washington Street about 2 a.m. Friday and called 911.

Two people said they were sitting in their car when someone shot into it. Neither was hurt, and it was unclear why the shots were fired at the victims.

Officers spotted the suspect’s car near the Tacoma Mall and tried to pull it over, but the driver, believed to be Jimerson, sped away at 100 miles per hour.

The chase went through Auburn and ended in Kent after the car ran over sticks police put down to disable a vehicle.

The driver and passenger ran away but were quickly taken into custody.

Jimerson was found with a handgun, according to charging papers. Everybodytalksabout had a whiskey bag containing nearly seven grams of heroin and 5.5 grams of cocaine, documents show.
