Woman found dead in Kent determined to be victim of Auburn homicide

Kent and Auburn police are investigating the homicide of a woman in her 20s, detectives said Wednesday.

A caller made a tip to Auburn police Tuesday, saying a homicide occurred at a residence in Auburn. About the same time, Kent police received a call about a body found near the 100 block of Russell Street in Kent.

The initial investigation led Auburn detectives to an address in the 3400 block of I Street Northeast in Auburn. Evidence found there indicated a violent crime had happened, police said.

Police determined the woman found in Kent was the victim of the Auburn incident.

An Auburn man in his 40s was taken into custody Wednesday morning, and was booked into King County Jail, police said.

Further information was not immediately available.
