Pierce County sex offender registrations

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Kenneth H. White Jr.

Age: 26.

Description: 5 feet 9 and 152 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2013 of unlawful imprisonment in Clark County for giving an underage girl a drugged soda on a bus, taking her to a garage and holding her at gunpoint while refusing to let her leave. Convicted in 2014 of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in Clark County for photos discovered on his cellphone.

Sex offender treatment: Unclear whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Vern D. Hess

Age: 29.

Description: 6 feet 2 and 186 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 700 block of Commerce Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2013 of third-degree assault with sexual motivation and unlawful imprisonment in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a woman and punching her when she threatened to report him. Later the same day, he grabbed a woman as she walked to work but a stranger intervened. Convicted in 2012 of third-degree assault with sexual motivation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman.

Sex offender treatment: Declined to participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Floyd W. Richards

Age: 41.

Description: 5 feet 9 and 190 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient in Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1991 of first-degree rape in Kitsap County for kidnapping, robbing and raping a woman at gunpoint.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Kristopher M. LaCross

Age: 27.

Description: 5 feet 11 and 230 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient in Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2001 of first-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl for nine months.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.
