2 face vehicular homicide charges in fatal Lakewood wreck
Two drivers are being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide in the death of a Tacoma man in a five-car wreck early Saturday on Interstate 5. Troopers said both drivers were drunk.
Dominic C. Bryant, 25, a passenger in the car that started the wreck, was killed, according to the Washington State Patrol. It is unknown whether Bryant was wearing a seat belt.
According to the state patrol, the driver of the first vehicle hit an abandoned car on the northbound shoulder of I-5 at near the Berkeley Avenue exit about 3 a.m. and bounced back into the lanes of travel. Two vehicles hit the car while it was in the middle of the road; the driver of one of those vehicles was also drunk, troopers said.
A fifth car swerved to miss debris in the roadway and hit a barrier.
The two alleged drunken drivers are being held in Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide.
