Tacoma motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run identified

A motorcyclist killed Wednesday night after an SUV hit him in Tacoma has been identified as Vincent Dombrosky.

Dombrosky, 52, was driving on South M Street about 8:20 p.m. when the SUV made a left turn from westbound South 38th Street and struck his motorcycle.

Police believe the SUV driver didn’t see the motorcyclist before making the turn.

Witnesses performed CPR but Dombrosky was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver ran away, leaving his vehicle behind. Police used search dogs to canvas the area but didn’t find the driver.

Officers have contacted the SUV’s registered owner but have not determined whether that person was behind the wheel Wednesday.

The driver was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
