Two arrests made in Parkland homicide

Two men were booked into the Pierce County Jail on Friday for investigation of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a Spanaway man.

Lorenzo Parks, 38, died May 18 in the parking lot of Parkland business from a gunshot wound to the torso.

People who live nearby reported hearing a fight about 4:30 a.m. They told sheriff’s deputies they went outside to investigate and found Parks dead.

Details about the men’s arrest were not immediately available Friday evening. The News Tribune generally does not publish the names of criminal suspects until they’ve been charged with a crime.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the investigation is continuing.

The men most likely will make their first appearance in Superior Court on Tuesday.
