Sex offender registrations in Pierce County

The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Cecil Baiz

Age: 58.

Description: 5 feet 8 and 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 2300 block of Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1995 for first-degree child molestation in King County for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl. Convicted in 1987 of second-degree assault for sexually assaulting a woman in a care facility where Baiz worked.

Other: Sent to the Special Commitment Center in 2001 and labeled a sexually violent predator in 2012.

Sex offender treatment: Participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Anthony D. Williams

Age: 44.

Description: 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds, brown hair and blue eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient in Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1995 of first-degree child molestation for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old boy. Convicted of fourth-degree assault for trying to touch the genitalia of a teenage boy in jail.

Sex offender treatment: Did not participate in a treatment plan while incarcerated.

Paul T. Makosky

Age: 40.

Description: 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds, bald with blue eyes.

Where registered to live: Transient in Pierce County.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1994 of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct by force in Michigan for assaulting a woman. Convicted in 1996 of indecent exposure in Michigan; in 2006 of indecent exposure in King County; and in 2009 of attempted voyeurism in King County.

Sex offender treatment: Unknown whether he participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Daniel E. Carnes

Age: 51.

Description: 6 feet and 195 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 12800 block of Pacific Highway Southwest, Lakewood.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1987 of first-degree rape in Pierce County for breaking into a woman’s home, threatening to kill her with garden shears and sexually assaulting her. Convicted in 1996 of residential burglary with sexual motivation and indecent exposure for breaking into a home and exposing himself to two young girls.

Other: Previous convictions include third-degree theft and criminal trespass, third-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, harassment, threats to kill, residential burglary, second-degree burglary and third-degree theft.

Sex offender treatment: Did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.
