The robber was young and carried a rifle with a scope.

Pierce County sheriff’s detectives have released surveillance photos of the robber, who was bundled in a hooded jacket, in hopes the public can help identify him.

The holdup occurred about 10:25 p.m. May 5 at a Union 76 gas station in the 10500 block of Steele Street South in Parkland.

The robber walked in the door, pointed the rifle at the clerks and demanded cash from the register. He then fled.

Investigators say he might have left in a white, four-door sedan parked outside the gas station during the robbery.

No one was hurt in the holdup.

The robber is Hispanic, in his late teens, about 5 feet 8 with a slender build and black hair. He was wearing a dark, hooded jacket, gray pants, a dark baseball cap and gloves.

Anyone with information on the robber’s identity is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
