A Tacoma man was killed Sunday east of Fallon, Nevada, when his motorcycle slammed into a pickup truck that turned off the highway in front of him.
Killed was Ronald “Jim” Guyton, 55. He was president of the council at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fircrest.
The accident happened about 8:20 a.m. as Guyton was heading west on U.S. 50, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
A truck pulling a travel trailer turned left in front of Guyton onto a dirt road near the Grimes Point Archaeological Site about 12 miles east of Fallon, the Highway Patrol said.
Guyton’s motorcycle struck the truck on the passenger side.
He was airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, where he later died.
The Highway Patrol said alcohol or drugs were not involved. The incident is under investigation.
