A Tacoma man accused of leaving sexual notes in his 70-year-old neighbor’s garden, calling her late at night and showing up naked at her house told police he was lonely after his wife died.
Donald Burl Bickford, 59, was charged Thursday with voyeurism, stalking and two counts of indecent exposure.
A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf at arraignment, and Superior Court Commissioner Meagan Foley set bail at $10,000.
Records did not list an attorney.
Charging papers give this account:
Bickford’s wife died several years ago and he started calling his 70-year-old neighbor in the middle of the night. Then she started finding sexual notes in the garden of her West Tacoma home.
A neighbor set up a surveillance system, which captured video of Bickford going to the woman’s patio at night while naked and looking in her window.
Police learned Bickford had done this more than a dozen times.
He told investigators he was lonely after his wife’s passing.
