A Fircrest woman turned herself in to Pierce County sheriff’s detectives Sunday after surveillance footage of her robbing a University Place credit union was circulated, according to court documents.

The 25-year-old was arraigned Monday on a first-degree robbery charge in Superior Court. Court Commissioner Meagan Foley released the woman on her own recognizance.

The robber entered America’s Credit Union, 4323 Bridgeport Way W., about 1:45 on July 15 and asked for a piece of paper, documents say.

She wrote out a note demanding $2,000 be put in an envelope and gave it to the teller, documents say. The teller did not know how much money was actually taken.
