Gunfire follows roadside argument in South Tacoma, man arrested

Police arrested a 22-year-old Tacoma man shortly after a drive-by shooting Saturday afternoon in South Tacoma.

Two drivers got into an argument in the 3900 block of South Mason Avenue. One pulled a gun and began firing at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, said Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool.

Nobody was shot, Cool said, but the driver of the other vehicle, a 49-year-old woman, was treated for glass cuts at the scene. Other passengers included a 5-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy, a 1-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy. The 1-year-old boy had minor cuts, Cool said.

The man was booked into the Pierce County Jail.
