Free concert at Graham-Kapowsin High School will feature ‘The Voice’ stars, drum up votes for digital learning

Rocky Ridge Elementary staff and students invite the community to join them for a free concert featuring stars of TV’s “The Voice, ” Jason Kertson and Emily Randolph.

The concert is set for Saturday, Nov. 1 at Graham-Kapowsin High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Performances start at 6.p.m.

The focus of the concert is to “Rock the Ridge” and get more votes for Elissa Dornan – one of 15 national finalists in the Farmers Insurance Dream Big Teacher Challenge.

Kertson and Randolph – both from Pierce County – appeared on Season 5 of NBC’s hit show “The Voice.”

Dornan’s proposal to “Rock the Ridge with Digital Learning” is the only Washington entry in the $100,000 contest. Rocky Ridge is competing directly with two other schools in Idaho and Montana. The school with the most votes when the contest ends on Nov. 30 will win.
