Students can learn about animal-oriented careers at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium Saturday

Career day at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is open to students in grade six through college age this Saturday.

Students can learn firsthand what it takes to be a zoo keeper, veterinarian, biologist or educator. They will see animal presentations, learn how staff biologists care for zoo animals and have opportunities for some behind-the-scenes visits. Space on the behind-the-scenes tours is limited.

Admission to the zoo and career activities is free for students in grades six through college age. But students under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pre-registration is not required. But students must check in with career day staff before getting their tickets.

Parents and siblings who aren’t eligible for free admission on career day can get discounted tickets at www.pdza.org
