Some Dieringer schools on delayed start Wednesday due to weather

Power outages and downed tree limbs will delay the start of school for some students in the Dieringer School District Wednesday.

The district’s elementary schools will start two hours late and there will be no morning preschool in the district. North Tapps Middle School will be on its normal Wednesday schedule, which has students start two hours late to allow staff the time to collaborate around curriculum and instruction and to communicate with parents.

Dieringer Superintendent Judy Neumeier-Martinson said Tuesday night that there were power outages in some schools as well debris across roadways in the area.

“We felt it would be wise to wait for light, allow the roads to be cleared and get our students to school safely,” she said.
