Orting schools superintendent Michelle Curry is one of three finalists for a job as superintendent for Longview schools in Southwest Washington.
Curry has been superintendent in Orting since 2009. She was previously an administrator for Seattle Public Schools.
In 2012, Curry was one of six semi-finalists for superintendent of the year for the National Association of School Superintendents. In 2014, Orting High School was named a school of distinction for posting five-year improvements in state test scores.
The Longview School Board has named three finalists for its top job and hopes to hire one of them Feb. 9. The other two candidates are Mervin Daugherty, superintendent of Red Clay Consolidated School District in Delaware, and Daniel Zorn, assistant superintendent of Kalispell Public Schools in Montana.
