An Anglican chaplain who has led a church in Baghdad for more than a decade will visit several congregations in Pierce County from Sunday to Tuesday.
Canon Andrew White, known as the Vicar of Baghdad, will be at Life Center in Tacoma for a service at 6 p.m. Sunday. The congregation is at 1717 S. Union Ave.
On Tuesday, Lighthouse Christian School in Gig Harbor will host another public event for people to meet White and learn about Iraq’s Christian community. It will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the school, 3008 36th St. NW.
White has been a leader at St. George Anglican Church in Baghdad since 1998. He splits his time between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
