Art - and ice cream - offered by downtown boutique

Thankfully, in the Northwest, finding art is never difficult - there are galleries and museums and show openings most nights of the week.

If you’re free on Friday night and near downtown Tacoma, spend a few minutes and stop by the eTc Streetwear Boutique, when Tacoma School of the Arts senior Ian Wheelock will open the first show of a new career.

And here’s an extra draw - there’s free ice cream!

Wheelock will be serving up work from his sketchbooks and on-canvas, a blend of pen-and-ink illustration, watercolor and acrylic paint. The show is suitable for all ages, and the first art exhibition for both the artist and the boutique. It will run through Oct. 4.

Why ice cream? Not-quite-starving artist Wheelock spent much of his summer working at an ice cream shop.

There’s no admission, so show up to support a young, local artist and have a little ice cream. eTc Streetwear Boutique is at 907 Pacific Ave, Tacoma.
