A 4-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained Wednesday in a 3-car wreck near Enumclaw, according to a statement issued Saturday morning by the Washington State Patrol.

The boy, Guillermo Silveria of Enumclaw, was injured in the wreck on state Route 169 near 383rd Street. The 2009 Honda Fit in which he was traveling was rear-ended by a Subaru Forester and forced into the southbound lane where it struck a 2003 Peterbilt tractor with a side-dump trailer, according to the State Patrol report.

The boy was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Silveria was properly restrained in the vehicle, according to the State Patrol’s statement.

The driver of the car was also injured and transported to Harborview. The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured. All were wearing seat belts.

Troopers cited speed and inattention as the cause for the accident and charges are pending.
