A sedan was stuck between a semi-truck and barrier on Interstate 5 southbound near Joint Base Lewis-McChord following a crash Wednesday.

The crash occurred near the JBLM Main Gate, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation at 10:33 a.m.

The sedan was partially on top of the barrier off to the right shoulder of the highway after the crash, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

He said he did not have the specifics on how the semi-truck and sedan got in the crash.

The sedan’s driver was injured, but Watts said he wasn’t immediately aware of the extent of those injuries. The driver was taken to a local hospital. Watts said he believes the semi-truck driver was not transported.

Information on whether there were more people in the sedan was not immediately available.

Tows are at the scene. The two right lanes are blocked.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

Update: The crash has cleared and lanes are back open.
