Falling trees slow I-5 traffic in Thurston County Wednesday morning

Traffic slowed on northbound Interstate 5 in Thurston County Wednesday morning after trees fell on the roadway.

The trees fell on the roadway at about 9:30 a.m. at milepost 116.4, which is past the Nisqually River Bridge, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation travel map. Cameras showed crews working to remove the downed trees on the two left lanes. A long line of cars stretched from the scene well into Lacey as of 9:50 a.m.

Crews cleared the scene by 10:35 a.m., according to a WSDOT update on X.
