The White River Bridge on state Route 410 between Enumclaw and Buckley will reopen at 5 p.m. Wednesday (April 20), three days ahead of schedule, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation.

The bridge was closed Friday to repair $1.8 million damage done last year when an over-height truck hit a support. It was supposed to reopen at noon Saturday.

The normal 3.6-mile route between Enumclaw and Buckley was turned into a 34.3-mile alternative with the bridge closed, adding about an hour to what is usually a 10-minute commute.

One lane of the bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday to complete a final inspection of the repairs.
