World Trade Center bombing commemorated in Federal Way

Federal Way residents, police officers, firefighters and city leaders gathered at Celebration Park Wednesday morning to pay tribute to those killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Members of the city's fire and public safety departments lead prayers and read the names of firefighters, police officers and Port Authority personnel who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on New York.

Members of Girl Scout Troop 421 sang Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." Federal Way Mayor Jeanne Burbidge urged residents to care for each other through acts of selflessness.

"Our well being is dependent on each other as human beings," she said.
