King leaders speak out against domestic violence

The Brame case is a "heart-breaking reminder" of the dangers faced by those in abusive relationships, King County leaders told county employees in a memo.

The memo, sent Tuesday, outlined efforts by the King County Domestic Violence Council to educate and empower employees to prevent domestic violence.

"There is no excuse for domestic violence, and we absolutely will not tolerate it in our community," said the memo signed by County Executive Ron Sims, Sheriff Dave Reichert and Prosecutor Norm Maleng.

The memo listed six Web sites for more information, including the King County Domestic Violence site at www.metrokc.gov/ dvinfo.
