Acting chief bans wearing of black bands for Brame

Acting Tacoma Police Chief Catherine Woodard has ordered officers not to wear black bands over their badges in memory of David Brame.

He committed suicide Saturday after shooting his wife, Crystal.

"As I review the sequence of events, I have decided that the wearing of mourning bands is not authorized for the death of David A. Brame," Woodard stated in a memorandum. "If you are wearing one, please remove it."
