Some of the top engineers working on the new Tacoma Narrows bridge will be at Gig Harbor High School tonight to field questions about the $849 million construction project.
Representatives of Tacoma Narrows Constructors and the Washington State Department of Transportation are collaborating on an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Common Rooms at the high school, located at 5101 Rosedale St. N.W.
Displays, models, photographs and virtual reality simulations will be set up so people can look at what's been built so far and what is planned for the future.
The informal meeting also will feature information on the status of the high-occupancy vehicle lanes on Highway 16 from Tacoma to Gig Harbor.
